Cessna 208 and 208B Caravan – STC for high strength main wheel bolts 

This STC is FAA & EASA Approved.

The Airforms, Inc. STC for high strength wheel bolts on model 208 and 208B aircraft was borne of our partnership with Caravan operators who demand the most from their equipment. 

The high strength wheel bolts have been proven in the field to reduce fretting between wheel halves, and provide an additional margin of safety for the wheel assembly. High strength MS21250 bolts replace the standard AN5 hardware that fasten the wheel halves and brake disc together; high strength nuts and countersunk washers are included with each kit.  Use of the high strength hardware on your Caravan aircraft will help prevent fastener failure during operations. 

Our replacement bolts come in two lengths to accommodate aircraft with and without brake disc spacers, and are eligible for aircraft equipped with certain gross weight increase STCs.  The high strength wheel bolts are approved for use with any of the Cessna 208/208B tire installations.   

There are two configurations of bolt kits;

1. the -060 kit for aircraft with brake disc spacers.
2. the -058 kit for aircraft without brake disc spacers.

The kit only comes with one type of bolt – you must know if the brake disc spacers are present on the airplane you are purchasing for.

The replacement hardware is eligible for installation only on the 10 inch diameter Cleveland wheel and brake assembly P/N 20-244.

The replacement hardware is eligible for installation on aircraft equipped with any of the Aeroacoustics Aircraft Systems, Inc. Caravan STCs.

The replacement hardware is eligible for installation on aircraft equipped with or without the Aero Twin, Inc. brake disc spacer STC SA02126AK-D.

You can purchase as follows;

Option 1: STC only which includes:

1. Copy of the STC.
2. Copy of installation instructions.
3. Permission letter from Airforms.
4. You will buy your own hardware.

Option 2: Hardware kit and the STC which includes:

1. Copy of the STC.
2. Copy of installation instructions.
3. Permission letter.
4. Complete hardware kit for one airplane with; bolts, nuts, and countersunk washers.
   The kit will include enough hardware for two wheels, i.e. one aircraft.

Option 3: Hardware kit only, BUT, You must already have purchased the STC:

1. Complete hardware kit for one airplane with; bolts, nuts, and countersunk washers.
   The kit will include enough hardware for two wheels, i.e. one aircraft.

8130-3 Form (Authorized Release Certificate / Airworthiness Approvals)

This form must be requested at the time of ordering and cannot be added to articles after they have left our facility. Standard practice will be one form issued per order and will cover all the approved parts for an order; unless additional forms are also requested. 8130-3 forms will delay any shipment between 1 and 3 days.
